    See Attached JPG!

I created this menu in Photoshop and I dont know how to reproduce the "glow" effect on my menu buttons. Using Architect, it appears I can only make the text go from white to blue (and have the star mark the selection) but in no way do I know how to "recreate" this glow appearance in the authoring program. Am considering other programs if someone knows which app will allow me to do that. Should be simple but it isnt! In PSD, I have one layer for the Off state, and one for the On state. The On state has the glow (but isnt being imported or setup properly).

Thanks in advance for your timely responses!

Switched menu. Create one version with the glow and one version without. When the user presses the down arrow, auto switch to the new menu. You will need a separate menu for each variation of the menu. If this is all your menu consists of, then you need two screens - one with English highlighted, and one for French.

When you say create one version with the glow and the other without, you mean actually save 2 different PSDs??? Wow, thats gonna be a heck of a folder for those screens where I have 10 thumbs with this glow effect around! I thought DLP would have a way of simply substituting the glowing layer when the user SELECTS that particular item?

  4. No, it is simply out of the DVD specs. The highlight is made of a 4 color palette therefore such an effect is not possible.

OK guns1inger, Lets say I saved a PSD like the JPG shown which defaults to one item already selected, and ive imported this as my VMG menu. How do I incorporate my second PSD which was saved with the OTHER item selected. Not really sure on how to setup Switched Menu using elements created outside of DLP...

You create a second menu page and use auto-switching. If you are adventurous, you can use multi-celled menus, which makes switched menus much more responsive.

The basics of switched menus in DLP is covered here -> http://mediachance.com/dvdlab/tutorial/switchmenu.html
