I'm burning DVD+R's at 8X with multiple muxed mpg. files 22 minutes long using TDA 1.6. The muxed mpgs were first edited in VideoReDo Plus. The disc plays the first file/chapter fine but will not advance to the next chapter. The surface of the disc does not look like other DVD+R's I own. It has two seperate areas of burning, one heavier than the other. If I shorten the length of the files to 3-5 minutes each and burn the DVD it works perfectly.
I've tried the same procedures in Magix MEP 10 and it has exactly the same outcome.
I'm wondering what could be causing this and how I might fix it?

Sounds like a burner issue. I don't know of any reason why it would burn various parts of the disc differently.

Yeah that was it. Thanks! I swapped the old one out for a Sony DRU-720A and I'm burning DVD's that work.
