Okay, I've got a standalone DVD recorder that can play .avi files. Thing is, the majority of divx/xvid files I d/l are in a extremely small letterbox ratio. If I encode a VCD etc myself, and set it to PAL 4:3 ratio, then everything's fine. But I don't want to have to wait a few hours just to encode a film that I will watch once, then wipe the CD-RW. So is there a QUICK way to change the .avi aspect ratio to make them play fullscreen on my standalone DVD recorder?
EDIT: I use TMPGEnc, so if that can change the aspect ratio quickly, then I'll use that, otherwise I don't mind using another program.

You can't go from WIDESCREEN to FULL SCREEN without cropping ... perhaps resizing ... then re-encoding.
Although WHY you would want to make WS to FS is a big ummm why? ... it makes no sense.
