Two questions for dvd lab pro (now that I have it working)

I have 3 menu options I would like to have the menu come up and have the first button (first movie) hilighted so the operator can press select and watch the initial movie of the DVD. When it is over I want them to go to the same appearing menu where the 2nd button (2nd movie) is already hilighted to of course save them the work of having to press down and then select.
And then of course when that movie is over it would go to the next menu where the third button is hilighted and when that is over it would go back to the root menu (movie 1 is hilighted).

I would rather not make each menu system over and relink them all. I tried to clone the menu and then change the "set as first button" feature but when I do this it changes all of them and of course that isn't what I am going for.

    Second probably easier question
Is there a way to export an image of your menu screen to an image file preferably from within DVD lab pro. I would like to make a little menu to movie transition video and insert it before the actual movie. I have read about people just using photoshop images for their menu screens and then I guess they just have a line or bullet that moves as the operator changes the selections. If I did this I suppose I would lose out on the text changing color when it is selected and activated.

    Thanks for reading.

The second part is easy. Under the Menu menu there are a number of Export options, including .psd for photoshop, with layers.

You can create menus completely in photoshop, and still have all the features when you import them into DLP. The secret is layers and not saving a flattened file in photoshop. DLP will import .psd files with layer and use the layers for menu buttons. This is how I create most of my still menu designs.

As for the menu highlights - I did this a while ago. It wasn't difficult, but ti did require a little bit of coding. I'm just looking for a link for you to read.

OK. There is a simple way to do this, and a hard way to do this. I had to do it the hard way last time because I was using multi-cell motion menus and had to control not only which button to highlight, but which cell to be in as well.

For what you want to do, it should be simple. Go to the Connections window. Click on Movie 1 (or whatever you have called it). At the bottom of the Connections window you should have a drop down list marked End-Link. Click on the list next t it and select the Menu you want to return to at the end of the movie. A second list should now be available where you can pick the button you want to have highlighted. This should set the correct button at the end of the movie. It may not move you to the next button if you hit the Menu button on your remote.

I guess if I simply made the menu in photoshop I could make 3 seperate menus by dragging the one file and placing it in all 3 menus and then just relinking the movies and setting the various buttons as "Set first button" and then have movie 1 link to menu 2 and movie 2 link to menu 3 and menu 3 link back to root? Correct?
Was hoping for an easier way kind of like that export option in menu. Hadn't looked there figured it would be under file.

I replied before I read your simpler way
I set it up now will go ahead and compile
    Thanks

You don't need to. Just create your menu, link your movies, then set the button end link for each movie on the connections screen. Simply and quick.

I don't think this matters anymore because of the suggested solution (End-Link, Highlight-Button).

But in the future, instead of cloning, you can duplicate the menu by using MENU/ADD/ADD DUPLICATE
