I'm trying to back up a DVD movie onto a blank dual-layer DVD, using AnyDVD and Nero 7 Ultra. I tried the "DVD Copy" feature of Nero burning ROM and got an error "no seek complete" before getting "Could not perform start of Disc-at-once" followed by "Burn process failed." I then tried to rip and save an image of the source DVD (no problem there), but when trying to burn the image onto the blank DVD-DL, I got the same series of error messages. Here is a copy of the error log from Nero - what could be the problem? Any assistance/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Although ImgBurn is your best bet I see a few things in your log I would address.
    Nero Version: 7.0.0.0
This is basically a BETA, there have been many updates since that version.

CdRomPeripheral : TDK DVDRW420N atapi Port 1 ID 0 DMA: On
    CdRomPeripheral : _NEC DVD_RW ND-3500AG atapi Port 1 ID 1 DMA: On
I would have my burner set as MASTER, rather than SLAVE.

    Sense Key: 0x03 (KEY_MEDIUM_ERROR)
This usually denotes a bad media match.

You mentioned -R DL but your log says +R DL. For Movies +R DL is the way to go, and Verbatim seems to be the recommended choice.

Also your NEC DVD_RW ND-3500AG is one of the earlier DL burners, hopefully you have the latest firmware, but even so it might have problems with the newest DL media.

Contacting Nero is like praying to GOD, they both work in mysterious ways.

Fixed it! It was apparently the firmware for my DL burner (thanks for the suggestion MysticE!) - I upgraded to the latest version and my next burn attempt worked. Thanks again for the input, both of you guys. Sounds like I should also check out ImgBurn too - I haven't heard of it but I'll start reading up on it - thanks again!

Nero's DVD Video burning is adequate for single layer, but awful for dual layer. ImgBurn2 is the only software worth considering for DL DVD Video burning.
    Read my blog here.
