Cannot play converted rmvb video to avi format using windows media player

Hi
Really a newbie to converting of video formats. Hope you guys can help me out....thanks a lot first.

My problem is that i just used Super converter to convert my rmvb file to avi format. I tried to play the new avi video using Windows Media player but the images are like very distorted and they play like past forwarding when one watches a show. The Audio also would not work. I wonder what is the reason?

While converting the file, i set the option of mencoder. Then i thought maybe i need to download the mencoder codec before i can watch the avi video on the windows media player but it seems not the case or i do not know how to configure the codec.....can someone help me? thanks.

i solved the problem... just after i post up.....thanks anyway whoever who bother to read my post
