Adding an opening image to a divx using virtual dub (or other open source)

I've poked through Vdub 1.6.17 and can see where to add an image file as a watermark but if I didn't want to distort the image for the entire file but just add a jpg, bmp etc to the start of the file can anybody tell me if there's an easy way to do so?

Create a short clip and then append the rest of the file to it. Assuming you want it to look like

AABBBBBBBBBBB where AA if your bitmap and BBBetc is your movie.
