Hello there,
I have just noticed something about Gui for Dvdauthor.
I downloaded it from the main page at http://download.videohelp.com/gfd/.
There I saw 3 possibilities:
  • - GUIforDvdauthor normal setup (4.0MB; dvdauthor windows binaries included, GDI+ and VB Runtime necessary))
    - GUIforDvdauthor full install (5.9MB - incl. VB-runtime, dvdauthor windows binaries and GDI+)
    - GUIforDvdauthor EXE (and help) only (2.1MB; VB Runtime, GDI+ and dvdauthor windows binaries necessary)
Since I'm not much interested in dvdauthor engine (I'm all for muxman engine) I decided to pick the last choice which is the smallest though I had to download+install VB runtimes too.
I have been working with GfD for only a week or so and I usually had it setup NOT to build an ISO and NOT to burn.
All I wanted to do was to check out my results with MPC.
But now that I want to try burning my masterpiece I found out that GfD would run nice and neatly but in the end it would not create my ISO although nothing bad appeared on the log file.
It simply said that GfD was building an ISO and it would stay there for around 6 minutes until it would finish the process.
So I went to my TEMP folder and ran the batch file that calls mkisofs.
Bang! Error message stating that cygwin1.dll was missing.
I simply downloaded the file and now mkisofs works.
So this is just a warning to any GfD newbies: you need to either download cygwin1.dll from here http://cygwin.com/snapshots/ or simply download "GfD full install" that comes with everything needed.
Maybe Borax in the future wants to include cygwin1.dll in the smaller package.
Just thought I'd share my experience with all of you.
Cheers
