  1. I am recording HDTV signals to my computer using over the air signals (MPEG-2). I can play the files in Windows Media Player with no problem. When I import the files into Vegas 6.0 for commercial deletion, Vegas doesn't recognize the audio assoicated with the file only the video is recognized. Can anyone help? What programs to others use for 1920X1080 video editing? Vegas was the only one I could find that supported 1920X1080. Thanks.

If you just want to cut use something that doesn't reencode the video like VideoRedo or MPEG-VCR or MPEG Video Wizard. Or use ProjectX to demultiplex to video and audio streams and cut with Cuttermaran.

If you want to use Vegas maybe it will work if you use Projectx to demultiplex to video and audio streams and import them separate in Vegas 6.

I won't use anything but VideoReDo for editing HDTV video. I love MPEGVCR with all my heart, but it hasn't proven to be as good with HD video as VideoReDo. VideoReDo will correctly recognize your audio. In theory MPEGVCR should too, but as I said I've had issues with it and HD video.
