    Hello All:
I've been reading forums, using search, using Google and this doesn't appear to be a common issue. When I bring a .ts file into ProjectX and combine all .ts files to one, which then become MPEG2 .m2p (I believe) then bring in that file to Procode 2.0 it will do video that isn't longer then about an hour, if I do anything over an hour I get the error similiar to "stalled during conversion".
I sure hope this is the right forum to ask this question in. Could hard drive space be an issue when I have about 12 GB left? I thought that would be sufficient. I have a P4 2.53 Ghz Intel proc, and 1 GB of PC3200 DDR RAM, and a ATI Radeon 9200 graphics card with 128 MB of onboard DDR, so the machine should be fairly capable provide I don't do anything else with it while converting.
Just wondering if anyone else has has this issue, otherwise I have no idea how to burn .ts files to DVD-RW to watch at a later time.
    Thanks so much,
    Darryl

The 12GB may be a problem. You may have another program that is 'reserving' space on the HD. If you have a single 200GB drive, 12GB is way too low freespace. I like to keep about 1/3 of the total drive space free. It makes for easier defragging and seem to make the moving of files more efficient. How big would the finished file be?

Just in general, having a second hard drive besides the boot drive is a very good idea for video work. Even a external drive. If you happen to have a spare SATA drive socket on the computer, it would be fairly easy to use a external SATA drive box that would operate at the same speed as an internal drive and require no new drivers or really any setup except formatting. This is a much better solution, IMO, than an external USB or FireWire drive.

A second thought would be to check your existing drive and make sure it is formatted as NTFS instead of FAT32. FAT32 configuration would limit single filesizes to 4GB. But you probably have NTFS as I don't think you can use a 200GB formatted as FAT32.

  3. I too have had problems wiith Canapus Procoder 2 stalling.
I'm sure it's a fine program, and something that I'm doing must be at fault.
I have recently been trying to convert a commercial PAL dvd to NTSC and it keeps stalling.
Anyone else have this problem ??????

  4. Here is the answer......
I would take a guess that you are using an early version of Procoder 2, that was my problem.
A bug in that program gave stalling problems, if the file that you were trying to convert was bigger than 2GB.
Solution: Use a later version of Procoder. I believe the version I'm using is 2.03. Looking through the version history, that problem has now been fixed.
It certainly works for me now.
I'm absolutely amazed that nobody else has answered this problem satisfactorily on this forum.
