  1. I can't seem to find anybody else having a problem like this. I'm a big novice when dealing with authoring dvds, so hopefully this is an easy fix. I've made numorous DVDs using TMPGEnc (I've tried versions 1.5 and 1.6) with menus and all. The DVDs all come out working fine on my dvd player, but when I am watching the video, pressing the "root menu" button on my controller doesn't seem to bring the DVD to the root menu. Instead text appear on my TV stating "Invalid Key". I've tried playing the DVDs on a few different DVD players around my house with the same results.

Hopefully this is just an easy fix, maybe I just missed an option in the program to activate this function or something, but for the life of me, I can't seem to figure this out.

    Thanks

What happens when you press the Title button on your remote ?

Have you authored with both a Main and Track menu, or just a track menu ?
    If in doubt, Google it.

Simple answer .... author the dvd with tda but do not burn (save it to the hdd) ... now use ifoedit and open the VIDEO_TS.IFO ... on the ifoedit toolbar click remove puop's (prohibited user operations) click any ok buttons if asked .... repeat this for VTS_01.IFO VTS_02.IFO etc until you have done all the ifo's in the dvd folder ..... now burn to disc and you will be able to select root/title menu's etc as well as any other user operations that were prohited
