    Hi,

Since a couple of weeks I am suddenly experiencing corrupt video in the preview while transferring video from my Sony miniDV cam. I am using firewire. Transfer always used to work fine with Adobe Premiere Pro (PP)or Windows Movie Maker (WMM).

Problem-description: during transfer from my miniDV camera (Sony PC101) lower half of the video is flashing and contains flickering green/pink lines. Upper half of video is smooth, looks OK but is compressed into half the size. Audio is OK.
Problem is present during preview while capturing in Adobe Premiere Pro or Windows Movie Maker. Once captured, the file plays OK in the timeline of PP, but not in WMM.

    Here are more interesting facts:
    - When playing back the just captured AVI in WMP, the problem is present again.
    - In WMP: when I goto extra>options>performance>advanced there is a setting named "video acceleration". default it is set to "use overlay". when I change this to "use high quality modus" it plays perfect !!
    - When I goto My Computer, doubleclick the Sony dv-camcorder, the preview here looks OK...???
    - After more investigation today, I believe there is a relation with my video acceleration settings of my graphics card. I have a Nividia Geforce 6200. When I set the video acceleration to the third stop, problem is gone with preview in PP, but the preview is of less quality.

Conclusion: I believe I have a problem with overlays...

    Can anyone help me ?

Download the latest drivers for your vga , install , reboot , and try again .

Drivers can become damaged or corrupted ... with out much interaction required by the end user .
Also be ware of micosoft updates ... there's been a few in the last 18 month's that have caused issue's .

Thanks, I will check the drivers. Haven't done that for a while.
I also changed my subject, since I only have problems with overlay. The actual transferred video is OK.
