I own a Sony HandyCam and use USB stream to load the Video file in my computer.
My question is what is the codec?
I'm tring to use an application called: vdts , to add time and date to the Video,
but it keeps telling me that my file is not a valid DV AVI file.
What kind of file is it?
Thanks.

Over USB it is most likely CIF 352x288 intended for webcaming.
DV over the I-Link/Firewire/IEEE-1394 port is full quality DV format 720x576i, 16bit PCM audio, 25Mb/s.Recommends: Kiva.org - Loans that change lives.

You may like to try our Enosoft DV Processor. It will capture the video via Firewire and add the time/date at the same time.
