Perhaps I'm just overlooking it, but was wondering if any knew how to fix this
    slight problem I have.

I was originally using VobSub to hardsub my subtitles onto my file, i would later then
add this to my dvd menu on Roxio MyDvd Pls then preview it. When I previewed the file characters such as " ' " and quotation marks were turned into small squares in the text creating
    a major distraction.

Strange thing is I uninstalled VobSub to see if that changed anything and
low and behold the even subtitles in the hardsubbed episode were gone.

    1) Why? I though the SubMux option was for hard subbbing?
    2) is my software im using or perhaps the file type im using ( AVI )

    Help.

    1) Vobsub doesn't hardsub anything. If you mux the sub, that's all you did, mux the sub file into the AVI file

    2) Which problem are you referring to? If you're referring to punctuation, in general punctuation are to be avoided in subs except the most basic.. I am guessing that your quotes are actually "smart quotes" from MS Word that are NOT the regular ' and ", but instead ‘’ and “”

Since this post is related to subtitles, it would be better in our Subtitle Forum. You should find more specific information there, also. Moving you.

    And welcome to our forums.

lol yeah I should've done that sorry..

actually I found out the problem, it was something stupid and trivial
but it could really mess with a person if they weren't paying attention.

what I actually did was redo the subs, and accidentally changed the font from Lucida Console to Arial, I changed it back immediately. But for some strange reason when it was switched back
only numbers and letters were affected, quotations, apostrophes were kept as arial.
So it threw Roxio off with having 2 different type faces...
