  4. Right now you are just Converting/Encoding your Video.
if you want to add Subs to the DVD, you must do it in the authoring Stage,
Unless you want Hard Coded Subs. then you cant turn them on and Off they are Encoded into the Video.

Look on the left at what is authoring.

Which version ? Version 1.x doesn't do subs. Not sure if Version 2 does. If you have an older version then you have a bit of work ahead of you.

Have a read of the links I posted here -> https://forum.videohelp.com/viewtopic.php?t=316686 to find ot how to add subs to an existing DVD structure.

The TDA site does not mention subtitles at all, but it is a pretty crappy site for real details. At this point I would say it does not, but prehaps someone who uses version 2 can confirm this.

No, it doesn't support switchable subs. Next version will support subs, see https://forum.videohelp.com/viewtopic.php?t=315025

GUI for dvdauthor (free), DVD-lab Pro, Ulead DVD Workshop...but they are not as easy to use as TDA though.

If you don't need any menus or basic menus you can use dvdauthorgui or muxman.

  12. I have a few vob files with built-in sub-titles. If I re-author these vob files using TMPGEnc DVD Author (version 1.6) to create menu etc. will I still have the original subtitles in the authored files? There seems to be none when I play them back. Is there any way to restore the subtitles in a TDA authored vob file?
