how can sync audio track to movie ?

dear friends
I'm a new user & so glad to find out this place! .
i read lot of articles & translated some of to Persian language .
but now i have Question & can't find answer for it .
i want add sound track to DVD ( Persian language ) , i don't know how sync this audio with movie . i looking for this learning & can't find it . maybe it's not exists .
anyway , can you help me ?

You have to match the audio running time to the video running time. Those are the first 2 things to find out(about your sources) before attempting to do any of this, and what format your audio is in. If they do, then things become a little easier(hopefully). If they don't then you would have to change the running time of the audio and hopefully it will be in sync, maybe inserting a delay(if it's small)...or manually sync them together using some NLE. But that would be a last resort. So find out the running times of your sources first, and what format your audio is in.

look , let me explain for u . for example i have matrix's DVD & audio is WAV format . i wanna add this track to dvd but can't . because :
1- version of movie is different
2- in Iran , they cut sex or relationship scenes
i wanna guide like others that explain how do that . can u help me?

Ok , you asked about the worlds most pain in the a## version , havent you ... I doubt anyone can help you sort that out , but there are two method's available to you ... and it is going to require a LOT from YOU , to get it right ... or even anywhere close .

The problem is the "removed content" ... and matching the unconnected audio to it

Convert video to avi with xvid compression .
Use vdub to save scene's out as individual avi clips without audio .

Use audacity to split the audio wav into several peice's .

You then load each scene in vdub ... and deal with the first wav part , till done .
You will need to beable to detect when the playback audio clip dosent match the video .

Note : Do not playback more then 3 minute's ... the audio will fall behind otherwise ...

For this you use audio scew to push / pull the audio ... unless this is an actual position where the video nolonger exists (edited cut's from original) .

1: Dont push audio further forward , if at start of audio .
2: Dont pull audio backwards , if at the end of audio .

Version 1.7.0.0 now includes audio filters ...

Work on those scene's that you can match to audio , save them as avi with audio included .
Those parts you find difficult , save them as seperate clip's without audio ... you leave these till last .

You may want to use audacity to recut wav's for these one's ...

When all is completed , you append the clips back in the correct order ... and can now save the audio as wav , and it should be a perfect match for the original movie title you have ... might be a second or so out ... thing's are not always as perfect as they seem .

Having missing scene's is one of the top three sin's one can do to video .

1: Missing scene's .
2: Vbr audio .
3: Stuffed up fps conversion .

If the new audio comes from a video that has the same fps(PAL/NTSC) as your video, then it would be easier. If not, then you would have to convert the .wav to the format you DVD it's in, by either stretching or compressing it. But for simplicity you can just use besweet to do this conversion.

Well if I were to do this(no disrespect to Bjs method), I would use some NLE. Although it isn't freeware, Adobe Audition can do this for you. But before I describe my whole method on how to do this, try out his method first.

If you open up audition and go to help, there should be some tutorials and guides you can go through to familiarize yourself with the program. Especially read about using the multitrack editing as you will be using that the most.

The idea here is to use one track for your video, one track for the new audio, and another track for the original audio(from original DVD) just for reference. Since the video is from a DVD, a useful shortcut would be to create a very simple .avs (avisynth) file , then import it into audition....instead of converting to an uncompressed .avi file. As far as how much time would be spent doing this editing, it all depends on how the new audio aligns up with the original DVD-video, and how many scenes were cut between the original DVD and the new audio. That's why it's important to know where this new audio came from - as in did it come from a 23.976 fps or 25 fps source.
