    I have tried various packages:
Adobe Pinnacle set up DVD’s with sound out of synch, and no-one could give me any clues as to why.
Ulead 10 Pro produces DVD’s with erratic movement.
Nero Premium 7 isn’t really up to the job, as it also has erratic movement of the recorded DVD.
Windows movie maker will only write to CD’s and it doesn’t even do this as it ‘collapses’ after 60% saying that there are 16883317 minutes remaining and inviting me to send an error report to Microsoft!
Is there any half-decent software out there?
I have a dual-core Pentium running at 2.8 gigs each. Two large SATA hard drives, A fast video card, 2 gig of memory and an up-market Pioneer DVD writer.
    Any ideas please?

  2. Welcome to the neverending world of grief when video editing with a computer!

It's been like this every since I started on a 386DX40 running Windows 3.1 and Adobe Premiere 1.0 (the original 1.0, not Pro 1.0!!!)

The only decent program I ever used was EditDV, something of a bastard child of NLEs that got pushed from one company to another.

Every version of MediaStudio Pro and Premiere I've tried has always had some issue or other.

  4. Your setup seems fine. Its possible that you have a capture problem. I use Ulead VideoStudio 10 with no problems, except it will not recognize my Canon Elura 100 camera. I capture with ScenalyzerLive and then add files the to Video Studio. Try a different capture program.
    Good luck.

If by that you mean like a ghosting affect you probably have the field order set wrong.

Suggest you post one specific problem along with the hardware/software details and pehaps someone can help you out.

  7. MrChips,

You need to provide more information. What's the source of your project? Are you capping from video tape? Sync loss is VERY common when capping from video tape without a TBC.

More info required indeed ... but without jumping the gun and asking you 20 different questions that may not even be related ... and might not actually be the programs fault's ... start with .

1: Consider shuting down non-essential programs ... quicktime , printer utilities , anything that dose not actually need to be running from the start .

2: For video editing ... defrag the hd .

3: When working with video , only perform that task ... dont go off and browse the web and stuff ... let the output complete the task .

4: Download avgfree , update and do a complete system scan .

5: Download and run hijackthis , log all running task's , and pm the log to me ... I'll check it for problems .

6: Check what is system required by "Ulead 10 Pro" ... noticed you not list sp2 in pc info .... worth checking .
