I'm putting together a CD-ROM that uses a flash based menu to open WMV files in WMP. The video files will obviously be playing straight from the CD-ROM. I'm planning to use either 480 x 360 or 640 x 480, but I'm still unsure of what is the maximum bitrate I can use for this situation? Say if I used 4mbps, would most PC CD drives be able to read and play that smoothly?

4 MBits = 0.5Mbyte/s
1x CD speed = 150Kbyte/s
So they need around 6x cdrom for smooth playback I would guess...
