Back in the '90s my brother was convinced that Circuit City was on to something big when they launched their brain-child known as Divx... and I couldn't talk him out of it, no matter how hard I tried (he still thinks it was a good idea that just never caught on).
He has asked me to find a software program that will allow him to copy his now useless discs into a useful format.
Is there any such program available?
Thanks
Anthony

Hi Anthony,
I wish I had better news for your brother, but I can tell you that there is NO existing software to do what he wants. Although we don't have any connection with the old Circuit City DiVX, we used to get a lot of questions about it. The encryption scheme was never broken, not necessarily because it was so good, more likely because no one really cared enough to try.
Those discs are basically coasters now, although they are a bit of technology history. Let me know if you have any other questions.
