Audio Sync goes out

Im not sure if this is the right forum to pose this problem, but mybe someone can help. I often want to burn dvd's from avi files. I use Winavi to convert the file to dvd format, usimg medium settings, and then either use Nero or Ulead to burn the dvd. Every now and again theres a glitch on the DVD and after the audio has gone out. I have Celeron 2.8 processor with a 1gb ram, and a lg dvd ram drive, all drivers updated. xcan I ask what everyone else uses, or if any one else has this problem. Many thanks
