ASF/WAV files won't convert

I'm using Winavi and Total Video Converter and I cannot get the ASF or WMV files to convert anymore. Worked fine up until a day or so ago (after I activated the Microsoft ADPCM codec, which I have since uninstalled).

When I open the files in the conversion programs, nothing shows up in the "source video" area in Winavi and Total sez "cannot open file".

There is ONE ASF file that will convert.....but all the others won't.....odd, eh?

Anyone encounter this problem before?

I have scanned and cleaned the registry and uninstalled/reinstalled all codec, yet it still won't work.

I did manage to convert one of the toublesome ASF files with Media Coder, but I did it in Xvid (whereas I am trying to convert to Divx in the other programs). It worked.....so I tried using the Xvid codec in Winavi, but no luck.

Any help would be grand!!

How about uninstalling/reinstalling Winavi?
