    Hi,

I've downloaded Nero 7.5.9.0A. There are not much info about stability or bugs or problems for this version of nero.

I was wandering if i should upgrade my version from 7.0.x to this?

The last time i did that was 1/2 a year ago from 7.0.x to 7.2.x to 7.3.x and it was worse.

Anybody with a experiance using it?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Ultramarine,

Exactly what is your question? What are you trying to do? I use Nero 7 Ultra all the time, and to be really honest, the only thing it is good for is burning, and it is tops at that. I use Lightscribe to burn my DVD labels and Nero 7Ultra is supposed to do that. Well, except for crashing my computer, it doesn't. I tried capturing mpeg from my analog camcorder, and it did a poor job of that, including random "chattering" flicker and sound noises, and poor video quality. I tried using pre-captured, excellent quality mpeg files in Nero's Authoring program, and the quality result was poor with still the "chattering" problem. But for general burning it can't be beat.

    Hope I helped.

  4. Latest version 7 (7.5.9.0) is totally bugged for me. If you want to make a cd copy, nero will hand while creating the temporary disc image.

Version 7.5.7.0 is very stable for me and works fine. The setup program is a real crap and totally bugged (sometimes it destroy all the file extensions (jpeg, images) even if you uncheck them.

I got Nero 7 Essentials with a Pioneer DVD drive. I don't know how it compares to the other Nero but I installed it to try and solve a problem. It made me remove all previous installations of Nero. It put a lot of stuff on my hard drive in a big folder in Program Files. I have Zone Alarm and it asks me whether I want any new thing to access the internet or the LAN. When I first started to run Nero 7, it tried to access the internet multiple times and also wanted to become a server. I allowed the first instance to see what was going on. I then noticed it added a Nero "Search" large button on my "Start" bar on the right. Whenever I tried to do something, it wanted to access the internet. All I wanted to do was to copy a DVD that I had made. It did that but only after trying to access the internet...... something it does not need (should not need) to do to copy a disk.

Needless to say, I decided I didn't want that program, even if it was free. I tried to uninstall it but could not find it in the menu. I went to the uninstall folder under Nero in "Program Files". It told me I could not run the uninstaller. So, I went to Control Panel Add/Remove Files and did it there. It took over 5 minutes do uninstall it. Then I needed to reboot.

I then found out it changed all the file associations. All my avi, mpg, and similar types were all changed to Nero7/........ which I uninstalled. So, nothing would work..... including mp3's. I had to go to folder options and reset all the file types to Windows Media or whatever they used to be.

I was never asked about re-associating those file types. Nor was there ever an opportunity to check or uncheck them at installation.

Needless to say, I am down on Nero. It seemed to act like some sort of spyware. I don't want or need that and expect better of a company like that. I just want software to do what it is supposed to do and nothing else.

When i first used nero 7.0x and created a CD slide show, it worked perfectly. Then I upgraded to nero 7.2x and tried 7.3x and it never worked for me. Downgrade to 7.0x and it worked fine. I have another computer that is using v6.6x and it worked.

    That's why I'm reluctant to installed 7.5.9.0A

Also, if i remember right one of the version 7 does not allow me to check the verify cd box.

I'm really looking for the final version of v7 that's un-bugged.
