    I noticed a slight improvement using an AR s-video cable ($12 eBay) over the stock. Same thing with a new IEEE over my stock cable.

    The point is, a small improvement here, a small improvement there...it all adds up.

    Buddy if IEEE is digital how can you see image improve...??? if the data is copied bit per bit... anyone?

    The only Monster S Video cable I bought failed after a few months(the human hair sized wire attached to the plug kept breaking). I saw no performance gain from the gold plating or anything else about it.
    I wind up using average cables, usually the ones that come with one device or another until they wear out from use, then buy a mid-priced cable, not the cheapest, but $30 for a "Monster"-type S Video cable is a ripoff.
    S Video will give you better quality over composite any day, even with a cheap cable.

    Maybe zoobie doesn't mean IEEE-1394. There are many other IEEE-xxxx cables. e.g., for parallel printer connections. Here, the cable construction can impact the maximum length of useable cable.
