  1. I have a Panasonic DVD recorder my remote model number is: EUR7721KGO. Now my problem is EVERY single button works from all angles except for the enter button, which works once in a while when it wants too. Is there anything I can do tofix this. Or do I need to get a new remote??

My DVD recorder is a Panasonic DMR-E85H

    Thanks,

  2. Open the remote and carefully clean the enter button on the keypad and where it contacts the circuit board with a q-tip wet with alcohol. Don't press too hard or get agressive with the cleaning or you'll rub off the carbon on the contacts.

Ok I can clean it no problem. But how do I open it without breaking it as there is no screw on the back??

  5. There's usually a screw in the battery compartment. They are held together with clips, use a small standard screwdriver, I use a jewelers screwdriver, and carefully pop it open. Some remotes are almost impossible to get open without breaking the clips and others come open pretty easy.

  6. Unfortunately many remotes have no screw and are held together with plastic snaps that can be broken if not careful. It would be hard to direct anyone to the proper procedure to open one, if not done before
It could be very hard to not somewhat mar the unit but this does not impede the units operation.
Cleaning is a good idea. – But most remotes DVD, TV etc. have a conductive material [carbon] at the button bottom for the contacts. But most often this material is mostly damaged or gone.
A repair will require this material to be replaced

Most Auto parts stores carry A conductive material in a liquid form that can be painted.
I believe it’s a loctite product, or made be another. This was supplied as a repair for damaged heater strips on auto windows, and works very well for a remote control
While the unit is open it would be a good idea to check all contacts
Depending on the material originally used; it may have to be completely removed from the repair area, prior to using this product.
It does not require more than a Small Amount

I took a look at that link you gave -- Wow
I had been in the electronic repair field for over 40 years and have seen and repaired many remotes
Repair was Mainly Dirty, and the Lass of conductivity of the button pads and the only way to [reasonably] repair it was a liquid silver compuund [some of which still have]
Finding a electronices shop that has or does this today could be a tough go.
Gluing a piece aluminium, coper, etc is not an answer

  7. Hmmmm well my remote works when it wants to like today it was working fine. I do have full coverage on my Panasonic. I think I will take it to the repair shop and have them order me a new one It'll be alot easier

    Thanks for the help everyone
