i was converting rmbv, asf files to dvd videos with my pc: 2ghz, 256mb,80gb hdd
with 6 gb free using intenso dvd-rw and sony dvd+r blanks, everything was fine
until i deleted some files in my hdd guessing that 12gb will be better than 6gb but this time
i was burning on imation dvd-r blanks and i ve never made a good video, all o f them are full of dropped frames even they get short like edited, whats is happening? coould be the media

i dont think the problem is the set up because i could burn/convert with no problems with 6gb on my hdd, how can i have problems with more memory, even a video converted nicely on a intenso dvd-rw when copied to a imation dvd-r was turned into junk

  2. If you did a 1:1 copy from something that played fine and the copy didn't, that's a media problem.

well about about the convertion using 12gb? you mean copying a dvd doesnt need a lot of resources?

  4. If you made the copy (I'm talking about 1:1 copies here), you had enough resources, at least hard-disc-space-wise. But CPU cycles is another resource, and it is possible to get a bad burn if you don't have enough of those during the burn, or disc throughput. Buffer Underrun may result if you can't read from the disc fast enough to keep up with the burn rate, although most drives have protection against this problem these days.

but if i converted with that resources 12gb, i dont think copying would ask me more, but everytime i had a dropped frame the dvd player made a click

itts odd cos the last time i converted with one program and had trouble with imation, but when i used sony dvd+r i could play mp3 and surf with no problem at 6gb of space, i heard that dvd-r is more prone to errors that dvd+r am i right?

  6. No.

Seems you are in the early stages of learning how to successfully author and burn DVDs. You may want to do some reading/research, there are many information resources available both here at VideoHelp and online in general. If you even spent a month reading the various threads that come up asking similar questions in this Forum, you would be considerably more knowledgable as a result.

  8. Honestly, I do not know what you're doing wrong.

But trying different media is an easy first step in the process of elimination that will probably be required to find out what the problem is.

    - media
    - burner
    - burning software

By changing each of those three and seeing if the problem persists or is affected by the change, you can get clues as to which of those three might be causing the problem.
