What could cause mp3's converted to wav skip on audio cdr's?

I've never had this problem before but here lately the last four music cdr's I've made have had problems. Every song will skip, mostly in the front of the songs. I tried closing all processes except the ones needed to run the computer, I defragged and the disks still come out skipping here and there. I have double checked the raw mp3 files to see if they had skips in them but they all sounded good playing from the computer.

I'm using Nero Burning Rom 7.0.8.2 with a BENQ DVDRW+- 1640. Memorex 52X 80min disks, on a XP Pro sp2 3GHz Pentium 4 with 2 gigs of ram

Anyone have any ideas?

Installed a newer version of Nero and no problem now so who knows. Problem solved.
