Uncompressed avi (using no compression) the filesize will be around 1.25GB per minute of video and audio with a 704x480 framesize. This will vary I suppose but this figure should be pretty close. If your framesize is smaller than 704x480 then the filesize will also be smaller.

Using Huffyuv compression the same file will be around 400MB per minute of video and audio (give or take a little). Again if the framesize is smaller than 704x480 then the filesize will reflect this and also be smaller.

The filesize of your WMV file is going to be determined by what bitrate you use when encoding the video and the audio, regardless of framesize. Just because the WMV file comes out smaller than the original .mov file is only a reflection of the reduced bitrate that is being used and nothing more. You could also reencode the original using .mov format, or also many other codecs like Divx and Xvid, and get a smaller filesize than both the original and your WMV file by using a lower bitrate.

    Hope this helps.
    Good luck.
