Hi have 4 AVI video files of around 100mb each and i want to join them all into 1 video. Ive tried a few programs to do this such as virtualdub and some others and each has the same results, what happens is that where the join is there is a pause so u can tell its been joined and then the audio goes out of sync. Is there any way of perfectly joing these AVI files?

    thanks

I suspect the 'pause' is built into the files. You could go ahead and join them in VirtualDub, then cut out the pause. But you may still have a audio sync problem if they were cut up improperly in the first place.

AVI type files like Xvids are really poor for accurate editing. Xvid has by default a keyframe every 300 frames, and you need to cut on a keyframe or you can end up with what you have. 300frames at 25 frames per second is not going to give you accurate editing. Give it a try, though. Just about any AVI editor will work the same as VD, so I don't think that's your problem. If you have MP3 VBR audio, even more problems, but VD would let you know about that right away.
