    I am using AGK to transfer ripped vobs to AVI. But one episode seems to want to take about 4 hours to convert???? Is this right? it seems like a very long time for a one hour episode...

    There is no way to rip DVD's straight to avi or mpeg is there???

    What speed is your athlon ? Encoding is a very CPU intensive exercise, and can be slow for high-quality. If your CPU is an older athlon then 4 hours is not unreasonable. If you are trying to do other things at the same time (browsing etc) then you will just slow things down even more.
