    File size in run time??
File size = bitrate * time

Are you trying to author to DVD spec?

    Yea to Dvd,

    1 file size 499.mb bitrate = 87kbps running 1:16:52

    the other 499mb bitrate 44kbps running 47:27

i figured those would be able to fit to a dvd-r, if not i can always author just 1 file to a single disc of its own, for better quality which i would probably prefer

    Avi2DVD?

I use the method that is totally frowned on here. I use Nero, drag and drop the AVIs. Nero takes forever to re-encode the AVIs (hours) but I have been satisfied with the quality.

Post g-spot screenshots of the two films so we can see all the details, however given what you have posted to date, you will only get mediocre quality because that's all you have going in. You also have to realise that watching on a monitor and watching on a TV are two very different experiences. Converting to DVD will expose all the flaws you either have not yet noticed, or are not prepared to admit exist in your source.
