  1. I'm not sure where to put this because I really don't know what it is.

I'm trying to edit a video clip with nandub (I just downloaded it and virtualdub this afternoon so I'm familiarizing myself with them), but I am continually receiving this error:

"Couldn't locate a decompressor for format 'FMP4' (unknown)"

Does anyone know what this is and what can be done about it?

FYI, it is a YouTube conversion that I am trying to edit, if that helps.

    Thanks!

    Found it here:

    http://www.fourcc.org/codecs.php

Apparently, FFDshow is needed to read it.

That is the fourCC for libavcodec MPEG-4 which ffdshow does support. Could also change the fourCC to DIVX, XVID or DX50 and use Xvid or DivX to decode. Most apps that encode via libavcodec do that by default.

Thx a bunch celtic_druid ! I downloaded AVI FourCC Changer v1.00, and changed it to XVID and Virtualdubmod could convert it no problem.
