I only have a few projects but unfortunately all the adivce I've gotten involves using TMPG, and noone suggests a freeware alternative. I've tried some, but it's getting frustrating since I don't know exactly what I'm doing and don't get proper results. I downloaded TMPG awhile ago, didn't use it but the trial expired. Is there a way to renew the free trail? I don't think just deleting and re-downloading will do it (or will it?).
I have an older version of TDA - is there a way to get that to supply an mpeg2 codec to the free TMPG?

    No, you can't just re-install.

I would email the developer. I have done that with other software and recieved extended time on a trial.

I wonder if this plugin would work? I opened it but not sure how to link it to TMPG:

Unfortunately none of us can answer this, as it is considered warez (circumventing software licence restrictions).

How's about you detail what it is you are trying to do, and maybe someone can suggest some alternative softwares ?
    If in doubt, Google it.

jmkeuning and anyone else, I posted below brief explanations and links to my other post (and some guides) that are more detailed. I'm not ready to learn about SCRIPTware yet. GUI preferred.
I'm generally using dvd movies (from dvd recorder or retail) VOB. I understand about demuxing, and using vobblanking & pgcedit a little bit. Not sure I understand AVI - what part of the video food chain is it? uncompressed mpegs? Why will programs accept/process mpeg2 but only output avi, like Virtualdub? Is it a moot point you're suppose to recompress the avi on your own?

I need an mpeg encoder to frameserve to from Virtualdub. Using virtualdub to
resize/crop some deleted scenes (so I can insert them into the original movie hopefully with Mpeg2Schnitt):

Need a TMPG substitute for resizing resolution, as used in this Pal-NTSC guide:

Also need a TMPG substitute for using in this PAL-Ntsc conversion guide:

Learn avisynth and you can use HCEnc, a very good quality, freeware mpeg-2 encoder. Avisynth can crop and resize better than virtualdub.

If you do a little reading oyu will find that there are now better methods for converting between formats, and they can be done faster using avisynth, HCEnc and DGPulldown that by using tmpgenc.

I'm looking for Freeware without learning scripts, as stated above and in my other posts. If people can't read, why do they post?!?!

Use FitCD -- that will make script for you just using the mouse. You don't have to look at the script if it freaks you out.

  10. If you had just looked around in the Tools section instead of getting angry you would have found SUPER.

Its free tool. A GUI to ffmpeg, mencoder, mplayer, ffmpeg2theora & the theora/vorbis RealProducer plugIn.
When I was born I was so shocked that I could'nt speak for 18 months.
