  1. Hallo everyone!
I am not sure if my post in the right place, but I hope it is since it talks about videos

I have Camtasia Studio program, which can enable Live Output, that means I can show my desktop to anyone in any Video Chat room, like MSN and others. I jut figured out when I wanted to show some video clips to someone, that the videos are just black, but in my PC the videos play normaly, only it shows black - totaly - to the other person who is watching my desktop.
Does anyone know why this happens and how to fix it ? I remember that it was working before and the person can view the videos without any problem, but now only black.

Thanks in Advnce for any help or comment!

  2. Typically, this is because the video is playing in an overlay window. Your computer's graphics hardware adds it "at the last moment" rather than it appearing on the image that Windows creates to represent what you are seeing on the screen. The software you are using is taking a copy of what Windows has created - hence the overlay shows up as a black hole.

To fix it (unless your software has a particular way of doing it), you need to disable the hardware acceleration features of your graphics card:

    Right-click on your Desktop
    Choose Properties
    Choose the Settings tab
    Click the Advanced button
    Choose the Troubleshoot tab

You'll see a slider for hardware acceleration. It has 6 steps, ranging None to Full. Drag the slider to the third step from the left (counting None as the first step).

    Close all the windows.

  3. Thanks alot JohnnyMalaria, that worked perfectly. Is it bad for the Windows to do that ? I mean to lower or disable the hardware acceleration ?

Other question, live output works in many video chat programs, but in Live MSN Messenger it doesn't work, I change the Video output in "video settings" to "Camtasia Studio", but when I view the Video, it is just black like it doesn't output from the Camtsia Live Output... Is ther any solution since I use MSN mssenger most than any other messenger ??

It won't do any harm. It just means Windows has to do with software what the graphics hardware can do.

I don't use video chat programs, so I can't answer that.
