When I was trying to back-up the first disc, I could not get DVD-Decrypter or DVDShrink to complete. They would stop at 97+% with a CRC error. There was no physical damage on the disc and it plays fine.

I rebooted the computer and the disc backed up just fine.

The next day I tried D2 and had the same thing. I rebooted. No change. The D3 through D7 backed up just fine!

As a last result, I created an ISo using MagicISO. This process completed but upon unpacking the ISO and trying to use DVDShrink, I get this error:

    ---------------------------
    DVD Shrink 3.2
    ---------------------------
DVD Shrink encountered an error and cannot continue.

    Failed to read file "F:\My_Video_D2\d2\VIDEO_TS\VTS_01_7.VOB"

    Invalid access to memory location.

    ---------------------------
    OK
    ---------------------------

Any thoughts on how I can get this disc backed up?

    Or dvdfab decryptor?

  4. I used dvdfab decryptor to rip some very poor quality disks.
There was one time that the disk was so poor that it had a tiny
hole there you can see. It took dvdfab 4 days/nights to pass
the hole and made the backup.

RipIt4Me did the trick. That's amazing... how did it do that? It looked like it threw out some stuff that it deemed unnecessary? Well, I won't ask, I'll just accept it.

  6. RipIt4Me does seem to work really good. Glad to see it did the job. I think the stuff it looked like it threw out is to fix the rip so DVD Shrink will work. It looks like you may have some sort of funky copy protection on the originals.

    Cheers
