I have demuxed MPEG2 files that have working strereo tracks ( I know this beacuse I can playback the audio in Quicktme Pro and hear both tracks).
If I try to convert the file to divx, MPEG4 or H264 (and I would imagine anything else), the files plays pack fine video and audio, but the audio is MONO. Signal from only one track of the file.
I have trued converting the file using ffmpegX & VisualHub with the same results. Checked all the advance settings with no success.
If I select having the file convert to mono, then I get the mono track out of left and right.
Any ideas?
Using latest OSX and MacBook Pro
Thanks

Is this the kind of stereo that has language 1 on one channel, and laguage 2 on the other channel?

no. actually these are TiVo files that I converted. They look great only having this mono issue...

Might try exporting the audio to another supported format; perhaps AIFF or AAC.
