I have a feature request for the next version of ffmpegX:
In DVD authoring programs you can set a flag which tells the DVD player how to display a 16:9 picture on a 4:3 TV. You can tell it to letterbox it, pan & scan, or let the DVD player decide (whatever is selected in its settings menu).
This feature is great because for widescreen DVDs I have made, my DVD player will pan & scan the picture and it minimises letterboxes on my 4:3 TV, although a bit of the picture is cut from the left and right.
It would be great if in the Tools tab of ffmpegX, you can pick a VIDEO_TS folder and set this aspect ratio display flag to whatever you want.
I have noticed that most commercial DVDs do not allow you to pan & scan the picture because the letterboxing flag has been set to Letterbox and the director didn't want the sides of the picture cut but I would like to be able to have the option to Pan & Scan.
Thanks for reading.
