Hello,

Okay, I have tried various programs for encoding and have finally decided to use TMPGEnc Pro. I followed the guide on nomorecoasters but unfortunately after 20% up popped 'Stream Writing Error' (I tried changing the audio to PCM wav but it says it cannot be outputted as system stream).
There is also a basic concept i am not sure of and i would appreciate some help understanding it. Do the settings such as fps, bitrate, ratio, audio stream type etc within TMPGEnc have to be the same as the source file? For example my source file has the following attributes:

kbps: 849
pics/sec: 23.976
frms/sec: 23.976
flds/sec: blank
res: 608x320
ratio: 19:10 (there is not even an option for this ratio in TMPGEnc)
audio: MPEG-1 Layer 3

Now when applying the settings in TMPGEnc for encoding i have set them as the following (in accordance with the tutorial):

kbps: 8000
frms/sec: 25
flds/sec: would be 50
res: 720x576
ratio: 4:3 (PAL)
audio: MPEG-1 Layer 2

Now, am i meant to alter the settings of the former (source) to the latter so that the movie will work on my television or am i meant to stick to the source settings. Also the source doesn't seem to be interlaced but it is suggested that the file should be set to interlaced for television playback.
Cheers
Nath
