I know for a fact it is possible to upconvert video files on your computer to HDTV Resolutions for playback on HDTVs. How do we do it? There are no guides what so ever. Can anybody help? Or is this not completely possible?

Are you using your computer to play the video? Then you are already doing a upconverting if you resize it 1280x720p...But you can use more advanced filters, noise reduction, better upresizing, sharpen, see for example http://www.htpcnews.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=132&Itemid=48

Wow. I wasnt expecting such a fast reply. Thanks for the suggesstion, and will read the link you gave me for ideas on how to go about doing so. I believe my monitor may actually support the 720p resolution. Ill have to double check.

And read http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=708383 and search the avsforum in the Home Theater Computers for upconverting for tons of information.

Describe what you are trying to do. Most display cards or HDTV sets will do the upscale in hardware. Some DVD players upscale in hardware to 720p or 1080i. There is no need to change your video file.
