I have been using subject programs for well over a year on a 6 year old computer, 256 mb RAM computer (windows XP) with a personally installed dvd writer with no problems whatsoever. Recently I purchased a brand new Dell Laptop a month ago with 512 mb RAM and a better processor with Windows XP. The burner I have is an HP external. I installed the same programs on the laptop as on the old desktop computer, but constantly and instantly run into errors and failures that do not allow me to burn nor rip nor shrink anything on the laptop.

Any suggestions here? I am figuring that I probably have some computer tweaking to do, since it is a new computer. Another oddity that may or may not be related is that I can play old PC games on my 6 year old computer but not on the new laptop.

Without knowing what errors you are getting it is difficult to help.

DVD Shrink should work fine. Make sure you have the latest version of DVDFab Decrypter.

As for the games, it could be video related, but again, without knowing the errors, I'm just guessing.

From what I can find, that is a disk error. The disk may be dirty/damaged or the file structure is incorrect.
