Virtualdub seems to have some hidden anal dimension requirements when you crop. Whenever you crop something, the resulting file's got to fit certain dimensions, like 1:83 or whatever the dimension for PAL wide-screen is.
If the resulting file ends up having a dimension that's not one of the "unwritten rule" dimensions, it'll give me an error message blaming the source file o_O.
So how do I circumvent this? Or do I have to use another program to crop the files the way I want to crop them? And if so, what other programs will let me do that?
