  1. I'm a little confused, even though I've read how to burn with Nero and how to covert with TMPGEnc.

My problem is, the movies I got are in widescreen (theatre type 640x288 pixels I believe) and I'd like to keep them that way with the VCD's watching them on my home DVD player.

A couple other movies I got from the internet that I have in VCD that I burned right from bin/cue have this aspect ratio, so it must be possible.

NTSC for VCD is not that resolution, however.

However, TMPGEnc seems quite happy to keep the widescreen aspect ratio. SHouldn't matter, the file outputs to the same size as if I used 4:3 (which I did

Nero complains when I try to burn it (incorrect settings.. not right resolution, etc), and I'd rather not burn a coaster... So what will happen if I ignore Nero's complaints?

  2. In Nero, uncheck create standard compliant cd, and choose NTSC. It should then ignore the settings. It will still tell you they are not "correct" VCD settings but after you burn them they should play just fine.
