This is the first time I've had this problem...

I'm trying to convert an AVI file so that I can burn it to dvd. I used Procoder, and tried converting to mpeg 2 elementary streams and also directly to vob files.

In each case, the video evidently is losing some frames - it's about 30 seconds shorter than the original file. The audio is basically the same length. The end effect is that the two streams appear to be in sych at the beginning of the file, but are way off by the end.

The audio in the original file is synched with the video.

PLEASE give us more information about the source avi, what video and audio codec? Downloaded avi divx, xvid, captured dv-avi, etc? Identify it with latest gspot if you have no idea.

And the audio format? mp3 vbr audio cause a lot problem and sometimes ac3 audio so you probably need to convert the audio to wav with for example goldwave(open xvid and save wav) and use it as audio source in procoder.

But I would use something else for downloaded material like divxtodvd, convertxtodvd.

I tried extracting to .wav, but the sudio file was still longer than the video.

I tried compressing that .wav file to the same length, but I still couldn't get the two to synch.

I'll try divxtodvd tonight and see what happens.

    Thanks!
