Can you play other divx with ac3? you might need the ac3 filter?

Does it work with mpc or vlc?

If you don't answer people's feedback (eg, 1st reply from Baldrick - Does it work with mpc or vlc?)
then you can't expect them to keep typing stuff in ?
If it plays ok in mpc or vlc then this might suggest that the files are valid.
If not, then the files are invalid and they'll probably never work on your standalone player.

    Good luck.

does it play the video without sound ?
    or vice versa etc....

the more details you supply the better....

You may find it more successful if you "demux" the audio from the video (in virtualdubmod) and convert each separately and then "mux" them back together (in virtualdubmod) ?

Alternatively, have a look at this post :
    https://forum.videohelp.com/viewtopic.php?t=281724
    or this one :
    https://forum.videohelp.com/viewtopic.php?t=212204

    again, good luck !

If you follow this guide - https://forum.videohelp.com/viewtopic.php?t=284288

    (install Real Alternative and avisynth)

Can you open the file in virtualdub successfully ? without errors ?

If so, in virtualdub, demux the audio - File menu, Save WAV...
Convert the WAV file to AC3
    https://www.videohelp.com/tools?toolsearch=&s=&convert=WAV+to+AC3&orderby=Name&Submit=S...+or+List+tools

Then back in vdub, select No audio (in the Audio menu). In the Video menu, select Full processing mode, then click Compression (also in the video menu) to select the DivX codec.
Configure your bitrates etc... OK everything and then File menu, Save as AVI...

(if you want to do a 2-pass encode, then there's a bit more to do, let me know if you need help)

Then open the video file and add the audio file you converted, (select direct stream copy in video menu - no compression this time) save as AVI again.

    Job done !

I don't know if virtualdub lets you add AC3 files but virtualdubmod does allow this.

    Good Luck...

Which one? They are actually the same, just different GUI. I haven't had any problem with them. Perhaps you need to describe the problem?

Use BeSweetGUI or BeLight to increase the volume (extract BeSweet to the same directory as BeSweetGUI/BeLight)
IMO Besweet GUI is a bit harder to use than BeLight.

In BeLight, the options you need are available in the "Advanced Settings".

    Quoted from "Stealth3si"
NOTE. all other settings should be the same so that your entire audio format remains the same (Kbps etc...)

You have 3 options to raise the volume
    1. change the boost levels (3-7, 0.95)
    2. change the normalization levels (100%)
    3. use HYBRID Gain levels to adjust automatically for you

    - you can also combine the 100% normalization AND boost levels to make it even louder

    Good Luck.
