I have a new compaq laptop that came with Sonic DigitalMedia solutions V7 pre-installed.So far I have not been able to complete burning an audio cd. I have an oem version of Nero for an external burner i have that is also capable of burning Lightscribe media as is the burner in my laptop does also.they are both dual layer(laptop & external burners). Can I just unistall the Sonic software and use the Nero OEM instead? I went to the roxio site to thier forums to find a solution. There was none & I'm not the only user experiencing this same problem.Or should I purchase the full version. I'm more familiar with the Nero anyway since i use that on my desktop along with AnyDVD,DVD Shrink & DVD Dycrepter. Oh by the way my laptop is a Media Center Os. The burner is a Matshita(Panasonic) DVD-Ram UJ-851S there are no firmware updates for this burner and software updates for the Sonic don't help the problem.seems from what i got from the roxio forum is that it has a conflict with Windows Media Player which I do use to rip cds. Also the WMP doesn't burn the cds either.I take it that the conflict goes both ways. I posted a question about the burner itself in the audio forum but no responses. I now know it isn't a media problem but most likely software. Thanks any help greatly appreciated. I almost forgot it will burn the audio files to cdrw.
