I've downloaded an avi with an srt file, but the subtitles are completely out of sync.
I've loaded it into Subtitle Workshop and tried to sync the first and last titles, but they're still completely off. mminfo tells me the avi is at 24fps, but I don't know what framerate the srt file was made for - I assumed it would match, but it doesn't.
Anyone know how I can figure out if frame rate is the problem? Arrgggh...

Did you use "Edit->Timings->Adjust->Adjust subtitles" to set the starting times of the first and last subtitle (NOT the ending time of the last subtitle)?
Did you try instead setting the "Input FPS" to different values while leaving the "FPS" at 24 on the left panel?
Worst case, some .srt files found on the Internet can had a very bad sync, and you'll need to re-sync them manually yourself.
