I need to convert a Video Slideshow, VCD i think into images, the images are stored as dat files.
Any idea of some software that i can use to do this please

Open DAT file in VirtualDub, the select File -> Save Image Sequence.
That will save every frame from the source resulting in thousands of images. Since a slideshow shows the same image over and over, you can use Video -> Frame Rate to reduce the frame rate first. Try somthing like Convert to fps: 0.2 -- one frame every 5 seconds.
