What kind of errors are you getting. You may also want to try CloneDVD (running with AnyDVD)

I have now purchased clonedvd 2 and that is doing the job great. A word of warning though to any newbies - be VERY careful what you download and if it's a licenced program BUY IT!!!! don't believe the buggers offering cracks or free programs that are usually shareware- my system has been out of action and at the computer doctor for 2 days and $260 worth of work cos I let a trojan in while downloading something I shouldn't!!! I have learnt my lesson !!!!!

You have learned one lesson. But you still went and paid for software that does a function that can be done better for free. Your call, of course.

Problem is....I don't understand enough to work out what is good and what isn't. Shrink zipit4me and imgburner etc etc just wouldn't do it, whereas the clonedvd did, so I wanted to keep the program.

I know someone who will most likely DVDShrink the POTC-2 DVD and keep every blooming thing on the DVD and end up with a lousy image on his TV.

But with CloneDVD [I do own both AnyDVD & CloneDVD2] I can choose what to keep and what not to keep ... I really dont have use for a bunch of ... up coming movie attractions.

As for picking up a trojan ... bummer ... Spy Emergency 2005 ... works nicely to remove the bad stuff. When you are going to those .... BAD/Dangerous ... sites ... don't give in to their Spyware installing demands.

Those spooky websites have changed over the past year with more sophisicated ways and means to get private information from you.

I bought Superman II -- The Richard Donner Cut ... and I ripped it with AnyDVD / CloneDVD2 and then shrunk it with DVD Rebuilder. I could have probably shrunk it with DVDShrink ... but I wanted to include the extra material included on the DVD about how it was made ... compared to the ... Superman II ... that was shown at the theaters.

Clonedvd works good as long as you remove all the useless unwanted stuff before re-encoding.Anything below 90% i use dvd rebuilder,or in most cases now just burn the whole disc to a dual layer.

Ripit4Me to get your movie ripped and Shrink to reauthor to movie only - if you are reducing for DVD5 why put anything but movie on it ? DVD Rebuilder with HCEnc to do the re-encoding. All free and reliable.

If you have ProCoder, even better.

dvdshrink - it can remove the useless stuff too, and it is free
Believing yourself to be secure only takes one cracker to dispel your belief.

Shrink with Deep Analysis and AEC is visually as good, if not better than CloneDVD2 on the same disc. Depending on the disc and the amount of compression required, DVD Rebuilder will be noticably superior.

If you like CloneDVD2 and feel your money was well spent, be happy. I, for one, am not convinced.
