So, I used SubRip to rip two subtitle streams (English and Spanish) from some DVDs I own into two .srt files. When I open one of my ripped Xvid video files with either one of the subtitle files in VLC Media Player (in the "Use a Subtitle File" field of course), both are fine. (In sync, all lines display, etc.) But when I create an OGM out of one of my rips (using VirtualDubMod, adding the subtitle files as streams, direct stream copying the video stream) and play that OGM back (in VLC of course), the English subtitles are fine. But not all of the Spanish subtitles show. What I mean by that is that one subtitle line will display. Then when the next person talks, nothing shows up. The conversation more often than not will carry one for a few more lines before one line shows up.... For example:
(Bold lines show up. Normal lines don't.)
109
00:07:04,817 --> 00:07:06,717
¿Qué tienes ahí, mayor?
110
00:07:06,819 --> 00:07:08,753
Margaret, qué lindo
que llegas a hurtadillas.
111
00:07:08,854 --> 00:07:10,879
¿Qué metiste en tu bolsillo?
112
00:07:10,990 --> 00:07:13,550
- Mi mano. ¿ Ves?
- Te vi con un frasco de medicina.
113
00:07:13,659 --> 00:07:15,889
Eras doctora, ahora eres detective.
114
00:07:15,995 --> 00:07:18,225
Estoy a cargo del inventario aquí...
115
00:07:18,330 --> 00:07:21,561
y si no me das ese frasco,
tendré que denunciarte.
116
00:07:21,667 --> 00:07:23,726
Frasco-- Ah, sí.
Debes referirte a éste.
117
00:07:23,836 --> 00:07:26,361
Es un aperitivo farmacéutico
para un paciente.
118
00:07:26,472 --> 00:07:28,372
Vi que tomaste un trago, mayor.
119
00:07:28,474 --> 00:07:30,374
Mayor, no será válido en un tribunal.
120
00:07:30,476 --> 00:07:32,740
- Es tu muela, ¿no?
- Ahora eres dentista.
121
00:07:32,845 --> 00:07:36,246
No soy dentista,
pero ¿hace cuánto que viste a uno?
122
00:07:36,348 --> 00:07:38,942
Resulta que me hicieron
un chequeo completo...
123
00:07:39,051 --> 00:07:41,019
con todo y radiografías,
hace apenas 7 años.
124
00:07:41,120 --> 00:07:43,088
Lo recuerdo como si fuera ayer.
125
00:07:43,188 --> 00:07:45,156
- Tienes miedo, ¿no?
- Qué estupidez.
126
00:07:45,257 --> 00:07:48,249
Mujer, un Winchester puede mirar
de frente a la adversidad...
127
00:07:48,360 --> 00:07:50,294
incluso cuando tiene técnicas...
128
00:07:50,396 --> 00:07:52,421
que no han mejorado
desde la Inquisición.
129
00:07:52,531 --> 00:07:54,431
Ten la seguridad de que no tengo miedo.
130
00:07:54,533 --> 00:07:56,763
Estamos en los años 50.
Existe la novocaína.
131
00:07:56,869 --> 00:07:59,770
Deja de ser tan infantil
y ve con un dentista.
When I watch the same part over and over again, the same lines always consistently show up and the lines that don't show up....consistently don't.
So, what's causing this, and is it possible to fix it?
I appreciate any information anybody can give me. Thanks in advance!
Note: I'm putting the subtitles in an OGM with the video file because I want all the files that correlate to each episode in one file.
