The answers were also simple and virtually unanimous.

What is the name of your dvd? I bet it's already covered in the forum somewhere.

I must be getting thin-skinned. It seems there are more & more posts by people who would've benefited well from reading the guides on this forum.
While I feel that I've been standing on the shoulders of geniuses since successfully burning my first DVD a few years ago (after 9 months of serious effort, including building a dedicated computer, etc.) and seeing how many have been helped since the days of vcdhelp.com: It seems there are many who feel they are owed an immediate solution, and ignore the wealth of information contained here - readily available if you only search for it.
I'm venting: I just cannot tolerate ingratitude and ignorance in any form.
1234567 looks to have either bad media, bad software, needs a firmware update - OR is burning way too fast and needs to slow down (my first step to solving a bad or unreadable burn). It's positive this has been relayed, shared, offered, given to him already. If his computer specs are correct, I'd suspect the cache on his drive is all over the place during the burn. I doubt XP has much room for a burn with only 128MB RAM.
As I said: I must be getting thin-skinned, as there just seems to be waaaay too many posts from people who'd have found an answer with a simple search thru the forums, worst case, google it.;/ l ,[____], Its a Jeep thing,

I got an original DVD. I was trying to copy that. So, I made a copy in my PC. After that, I put it in my DVD world wide player. I see a black screen, no picture. I thought that I did not make an exact copy.
After that our friend Baldric, suggested me to see the copy in my PC. Fortunately, the copy worked on my PC. So, the problem was evident.
One my friend told me to try Clone DVD, because some soft can not make an exact copy losing menu and other things. Clone DVD solved this problem. -

First, I hope you really appreciate all the help you got here. You gave people so little information to work with that its amazing you actually got help. Generally, such posts are greeted with a number RTFMs. I'm sorry, but, 'the screen is black' is VERY poor information to go on. Of all the steps in making a copy of a DVD: ripping, decrypting (if needed), editing (if needed), encoding or transcoding, authoring, and lastly, burning - and the choices for each of those, you gave us precious little info. And I didn't even mention anything about lack of pc, player or media information.
Secondly, you should also be very appreciative of all the help because everyone most certainly gave you the benefit of the doubt that this is NOT a commercial and/or encrypted (what was meant by 'pressed') DVD given to you by a friend. Asking for help in copying this kind of disc is highly discouraged and warrants banning. I notice that you were silent when asked for the title of the movie in question...
To jimmalenko's very helpful post, what you are seeing is a person who been brought up in a society of freedom, expression and happiness. He was just having a good time with a simple mistake of double pasting on your part. Jumping down his throat and suggesting he was not helpful is very narrow minded and extremely unfortunate on your part.
Secondly, if you were actually looking for an EXACT copy, as you've mentioned more than once, then you have a friend who has fooled you if this is a full DVD. You CANNOT get a full 9gb DVD of information on a 4.5 DVD without loosing quality. It may be difficult to see, but unless you copied this assumed non-commercial DVD to a dual-layer disc, you are working with lower quality.
Be grateful, VERY grateful, that all you got was heads up that you typed or pasted something twice. For a NOOB with an attitude, you got away with quite a lot.Have a good one,
neomaine
