  1. I have a 4+ hours movie I encoded into mpeg2.
I also have the original audio stream which I have extracted into a .wav file.

What's the best way to split both the video file and audio file, without reencoding any of them and still keeping them in synch?

    How big are the files?

If the video part is 4 GB or less, you can convert the WAV to MP2 or AC3, which can be a few hundred MB at high quality, and fit the entire movie on a DVD5.

  3. I know. But like I said this is a 4+ hours movie, so the files files are much bigger than the required for normal DVD5.

The video file is around 8GB. The audio file is 2.5GB uncompressed. After compressing to ac3 it will probably take around 500MB.

    Could anyone help please?

cuttermaran, add the mpeg2 and wav and cut it.
convert the wav to ac3 with ffmpeggui or use a tmpgenc dvd author with the ac3 plugin.

  5. Great! thank you!

Should I use the tmpgenc dvd author plugin instead of Aften? Or stick with Aften?
